The 16 N. Depot Street facility opened its doors to clients on August 20, 2012. The opening of the 12 single-bedroom apartment building at 16 N. Depot Street, owned and operated by the Community Mental Health Center, Inc.
It showed that nearly 1 in 5 Southeast Indiana adults reported that they had friends or family members who had problems as a result of abusing prescription pain relievers. This means an estimated 16,000 Southeast Indiana adults know someone who has abused prescription pain relievers.
A 12 one bedroom apartment facility is under construction in Batesville to serve homeless young adults who are challenged with a serious mental illness. Construction is anticipated to be completed by summer of 2012.
Training is scheduled to begin in February.
Community Mental Health Center, Inc., Lawrenceburg, other mental health providers, and advocates for mental health care throughout the United States are working together with hundreds of thousands of Americans during Mental Illness Awareness Week, October 2-8, to continue support for mental health care services and to provide education about mental illnesses.
September is National Recovery Month, and Community Mental Health Center, Inc., Lawrenceburg, joins behavioral health services providers in Indiana and nationwide in marking this important celebration of the accomplishments of people in recovery.
