CMHC Cancer Support Group Participates in Relay for Life

The CMHC Cancer Support Group participated in the Batesville Relay for Life in June.  One staff member and three consumers participated.  Two of those consumers completed the entire overnight walk. The Cancer Support Group raised $125.00 and contributed $80.00 in luminaries for those who are honored and in memory of their fight against cancer. 

 

The Cancer Support Group has participated in the Relay for Life since the group started three years ago.  Toddy Cupp, the staff coordinator for the group stated, "I am proud of the Cancer Support Groups’ dedication to their support of each other and to the fight against cancer. We do not see ourselves as survivors but as warriors against cancer.  We lost two of our members this year in their fight against cancer and balloons were released with messages from the group at the relay in their memory."
