CMHC's Housing Program Continues to Expand
January 30, 2012
The Community Mental Health Center is excited about expanding housing services in Batesville. The Community Mental Health Center acknowledges the need to develop additional housing and recognizes that everyone deserves an opportunity for shelter particularly those who are disadvantaged and disenfranchised. The Community Mental Health Center began planning to develop additional housing services in 2009. As a result a 12 one bedroom apartment facility is under construction in Batesville.
Located across the street from existing housing programs, the program will serve homeless young adults who are challenged with a serious mental illness. All of the participants of the housing program receive supportive services. Supportive services are based on individual need. Supportive services consist of skill development and training in areas such as self care, daily life management and problem solving skills, as well as case management and medication monitoring.
Construction is anticipated to be completed by summer of 2012. Contact Paul Murphy at 532-3496 for additional information.
